Richard is a Partner in the Business Department having joined the firm as a Partner in 2005. Richard practices in the areas of corporate finance and project finance.

In corporate finance transactions Richard has acted for both buyers and sellers in M&A transactions across all sectors as well as advising in private equity transactions and shareholder arrangements. He also advises clients on the Takeover Rules.

In project finance transactions Richard has experience of public private partnership (PPP) and other PFI-type transactions across several sectors, including healthcare (hospitals and primary care facilities), education (schools) and transport (the London Underground PPP).

Richard began his career at another leading Dublin firm and recently spent five years working in London and Berlin with Hammonds, a leading UK law firm.

Recent Transactions on which Richard has acted include:

  • Advising Laurus Capital Management in a loan note financing of AgCert International plc
  • Advising the Tailwind Participation Trust (the Aer Lingus pilots) on the hostile takeover bid by Ryanair for Aer Lingus
  • Advising the vendors on the disposal of the Café Togo Group to management
  • Advising Digicel (Samoa) Limited on the acquisition of Telecom Cellular Samoa Limited from Telecom New Zealand and the Government of Samoa
