LK Shields Solicitors acted for Claret Capital Limited (a private equity group) in a joint venture with Altobridge Limited (a Kerry based software company) to establish Blue Ocean Wireless Limited, the world's first GSM mobile phone network for merchant ships.

LK Shields also acted for Blue Ocean Wireless Limited when Bank of Scotland (Ireland) Limited took a 10 per cent stake in the company a month later.
