LK Shields Solicitors acted for its long standing client, Communicorp Group Limited, in the sale of FM 104 to UTV.

Communicorp previously acquired FM104 and Emap plc's other Irish radio assets, being Today FM and Highland Radio.

The consideration is €52 million in cash and completion of the transaction was subject to approval from the Competition Authority and the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI).

Gerry Halpenny, a Partner in the Business Department, led the transaction together with assistance from Jennifer McGuire, an Associate in the Business Department.

Marco Hickey, a Partner in the Business Department, dealt with regulatory issues, in particular the obtaining of the necessary clearances from the Competition Authority and the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland.
